studied for two years with the Moody Bible Institute. Fortunately I didn't know what lie ahead months down the road as a required part of my studies, I had to preach - Publicly!
Marks dad, Harold Shutts, who was himself a preacher and evengelist for nearly 40 years once said "I would listen
as Mark would perform practice sermons in his upstairs bedroom. He was going to fill in for me from time to time at the church I was pastoring." Mark says "I studied in depth and took great care in preparing my first half hour sermon which I would be delivering in front my dad's congregation. The day arrived, I took the pulpit and boy was I ever grateful for that big old wooden maple pulpit because it hid my trembling legs and my shaking hands and don't you know I preached that thirty minute sermon in just over seven minutes." And so began what has been the grand adventure of a lifetime.
Hitting the airwaves in 1984 the weekly MSM radio program first began broadcasting in Ohio. It then spread throughout South America including Trinidad and Tobago. Kentucky and Pennsylvania were then added.
MARK'S PRE-MINISTRY DAYS:
Mark did well throughout his early school years but when he reached high school he came face to face with his first great enemy - public speaking. "Whenever we would have to give a speech in front of the class I would always just take an automatic F," Mark said. "Just the thought of standing and speaking in front of an audience terrified me."
