“Heaven speaks of “Home.” The home of God and His people. When we think of home, our earthly home, we think of it as the place of our loved ones - where our mom and dad are. Our wife, our husband. It’s a place where we know we are always welcome. At the end of the day it’s the place where we go to escape all the strife of the world. So then it follows that our “Heavenly Home” is the place where we will see our loved ones who accepted Christ during their life. Yes, we may have told them good-bye here with broken hearts (I have told both of my parents good-bye). But one day, we will see them in the land where all tears are wiped away, praise God! How I look forward to that wonderful day.

In the Bible the glories of Heaven are portrayed in various ways: It is called a “country” - which tells us of its vastness. It is called a “City” - which tells us of the great numbers that will be there. It is called a “Kingdom” - which tells us of its orderliness. It is called a “Paradise” - which tells us of its delights. And it is called the “Fathers House” - which tells us it is permanent. I call it - "HOME." Jesus said “Where I am, there ye shall be also.” “I go to prepare a place for you.” God never takes His people to an unprepared place. He prepared the Garden of Eden before He placed Adam and Eve in it. And He has not left the job of preparing Heaven to the angels, Jesus Christ Himself is preparing it! And one day when we least expect it, Jesus will come in the air and He will take all of His people, those that are dead, and those who are living, with Him up to Heaven - to “Home.” And for all who have made Him Lord and Master of their life it will be a great day when He comes. The greatest fact in the history of the entire world is the fact that Jesus Christ came into this world and died for our sins. And the greatest fact about the future is that Jesus Christ is coming again! The Bible tells us about His second coming 318 times in the New Testament. And what is the way? How can we get “Home?” Jesus answered that question very simply and concisely when He said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father but by Me.” Jesus was simply saying “there is only one way to get to God, only one way to get to Heaven, only one way home - you must come through Me.”

It is Jesus Christ Who covers the span between man and God. He said “I am the way.” Jesus Christ alone is the way. No church, no government, no country, no political organization can say “I am the way.” Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. There is no other.

Jesus said “I am the truth.” Christ Himself is the full and final revelation of God. Truth is not found in any philosophy. Truth is found only in the person of Jesus Christ. To know Christ, is to know the truth.

Jesus said “I am the Life.” The unsaved person is alive to the things of the world, but dead to the things of God. Only Christ can make a person “alive.” The Bible says that those who believe in Him “have passed from death unto life.” But to believe is not enough. The Bible says that even the devil believes. You must come to God through Jesus Christ to be saved. There is no detour around Christ and the Cross. Before any person can enter Heaven they must come by way of the Cross, by way of faith in Jesus Christ.

Those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour can take great delight in the knowledge that - He has PROMISED eternal peace for us - He has PREPARED an eternal place for us - and He has PROVIDED the only way to that place....the only way “Home.”
